Flight Home

Well, our flight home was memorable. Thanks Karen for the offer of a ride and Thank You Rizzo’s for letting me hang out later and catch a ride with you all!!! G and I made it to the airport in plenty of time. I was smart and took off all my bling and hair and G’s bling prior to security. LOL. (yes, I was sporting some fake hair for the girls that didn’t make it) We made it to our gate where G entertained the waiting passengers for an hour or so with her antics, sweetness and curiousity. I was elated that she’d finally come around. The SouthWest guy says I can board at A53 but didn’t have to get inline and that he would get me when our number was up. SouthWest no longer preboards families with small children. They board A then all families with a B,C or D number right after A’s. Okay, anyway…they start boarding a G pitches a full blown tantrum!!! It was so bad and I tried everything. Everyone was looking at me. The SW guy comes over to us and sweeps us onboard before they even begin boarding A group. The good thing is that I KNOW NO ONE WANTS TO SIT NEXT TO US. Which works out great because we only have a lap ticket. I put her in the middle seat and I’m on the end. I repeatedly tell her “sit DOWN”. Finally, I’ve had it and it my lowest and firmest voice say “SIT down”. She did it but in like 1 minute, the next passenger comes back, she jumps up in her seat, stomps her foot and a loudly as she possibly could in perfect English yells at him to “SIT DOWN!!!!” What could I do but giggle. He looks at me and sits down quickly. Me…still giggling. G did it for the next two passengers that passed us. The girl cracked me up…all I could do is laugh at her bad behavior! Anyway, I couldn’t have planned the seating arrangements any better! Thanks G. You’re my girl!

Nap Time!

A VERY HAPPY girl now...AC and her nap matt and pillow.

Beach Day 2

OBVIOUSLY G DIDN'T like the Beach on Day 2! So after lunch, we went back to the hotel for a nap!

Awe poor baby, it was really sad. We gave it the college try...

Swimming Day 2

Not great of me but too freaking cute of G!!!

Unsuccessful Portraits...

NO WORDS NECCESSARY!

Portraits

After we took some portraits in the Ladybug Dresses then we changed into the white Pillowcase dress that Kathy Made, see photo here. It was my first post. Then we took some individual photos afterwards. Below is me and my girl!

G and I also got our photo taken with Susan and Sophia!

Little Ladybugs

Straight after dinner we headed down to the ocean for some portraits. Not all the girls were there yet but the seven that were there got started. We kept them in the dresses that I bought them and placed them all on the dune! Do you have any idea how HARD it is to get seven little ones to be happy and look at the camera at the same time! Close to IMPOSSIBLE. This was my BEST photo of the bunch. Again, so darn cute!!!

Below is Kaelie and Giorgia. Kaelie and her mama Karen were with us in China. We only wish our other GZ sista was with us, Lauren. We miss Lauren, Mama Donna and Baba Joe! Thinking of you!

A Night at an Irish Pub...

Saturday night we all went to dinner at an Irish Pub. We had the back room to ourselves and it was just crazy. I bought all our little girls matching green and pink dresses with little Ladybugs!!! They just look so adorable on the girls.

I wished I had gotten photos of me with each of my Pandas...next time!

Oh yeah, here is my

DRAMA QUEEN

First Time in a Pool!

This was G's first time in a pool. She clung to me like a little monkey for the first hour and them got a bit more comfortable. The pool felt great this evening ...it counter balanced the sweltering heat of the afternoon. We borrowed MeiLi's little Ladybug Floaty but G was not that crazy about it. Maybe next time when she is more comfortable. She did great for her FIRST TIME!!!

First Day at the Beach

You would think that since my girl was born just a tad north of the South China Sea that she would not MELT in the HEAT WAVE that Amelia Island was. She was a little SWEAT BALL the entire weekend. The heat index had to be over 100 and there was NO BREEZE on the ocean. We joined the Hilton's in renting a 10'x10' tent and lounge chairs to protect us from the sun which was great but we needed a breeze. However, It was still BEAUTIFUL!

G's first day at the BEACH! Lots of TEARS! Only snacks and her Baby Cabana were on her agenda for the day! (oh yeah, and lots of SWEAT! Poor Baby)

I tried to get her to play with the other little ones. I didn't try that hard though...you could tell she just wasn't up for being social.

Here is G with Qiao in "Sandy Bottoms" for Lunch.

Typical, She crashed right after they served us our lunch. Dead to the world...but soooo cute!

Seaside Dinner & Rides

After we checked into the hotel and jumped up and down hugging all our "missed" friends we headed to the beach picnic area for a fantastic dinner. Susan & Riz prepared the main food and all the families that drove contributed great dishes too to our SEASIDE DINNER. What a great idea!

Here is my girl acting all kinds of shy. Like her Flower? (I made it and there is even some bling in the middle...gotta have the bling!)

G also had some free entertainment thanks to Sophia's Radio Flyer and Sharon who pulled all the little girls in the wagon. Below is G and Sharon's little girl, MaryAlice!

The Reunion Continued

My Giorgia was more the observer on our Amelia Island weekend... not sure if the extreme heat had anything to do with it. She had a bunch of firsts this weekend:

  • Day at the Beach
  • Dip in the Atlantic Ocean
  • Swimming in a Pool
  • Wore a Swim Diaper
  • Used a Swim Diaper to it's fullest potential
  • Dinner at an Irish Pub
  • Fruit Loops, Sprite, Waffles
  • Front Facing CarSeat (temporary)
  • Mini Magnadoodle
  • Used a straw the "right" way
  • First time to have her nails polished

I'm sure there are MANY more, I just can't think of any right now!

Flight to Amelia Island

Our Flight to Amelia Island was uneventful. CHEAP too! I found a $59 each way ticket and G flew for free on a lap ticket. Won't be able to do that for much longer. G was pretty good. I assume that is because she was able to have her own seat since the plane was not full! What a lifesaver. I also brought her some new toys to keep her entertained. This mini Etch-a-sketch was the best pick EVER!!! We also gave painted her toenails for the first time. Aren't they BEAUTIFUL!! She's a girly girl for sure!

Amelia Island Reunion

This weekend, on Amelia Island, was our first Precious Panda ECG Reunion with our BABIES. We've been waiting for this for some 3+ years for this particular weekend. First we had our Philly Reunion and then our Florida Fling with a few mini ones in between but none compare to this!!!

We've always heard that China makes the most PERFECT matches and now I think we are all BELIEVERS. What an AMAZING group of little girls. They are all very different and yet very much a like...and all very BEAUTIFUL! Enjoy their Beach Portrait! It's not bad considering none of them really wanted to be there, well, except Lily. She was a ham. Sending a big Thank You to Kathy, mama to Emma, who made these PRECIOUS matching pillowcase dresses for all the girls!!!

Miss you all already and hoping next years reunion is here before we know it!

While I was looking up the link to our Philly reunion I found this post that I made on October 5, 2006. How things change and how they stay the same...

"When a few of us East Coast Girls decided to get together, we never thought that so many would join us. (some from pretty far away) It became more than I ever imagined it would be! I knew that I was creating bonds with a bunch of great girls (women, but I like to say girls) that I've been chatting with online. I just didn't realize how truely amazing each and every one was until I spent this weekend with them. We all had a story and a different perspective. Different but the same. Our Children from China will be our bond and I see all of us growing old together. It was a weekend with lots of touring, shopping, eating, and drinking. But in the end, what I'll remember the most was all of the fun, laughter, craziness, sharing, and tears. Thank you to all of you that came from near and far! This was just the BEST WEEKEND! I miss you all!!!!!"

So, here's to our FRIENDSHIP and it forever being a constant in our lives!

7-11 is NOT a Drive-Thru Lady...

I can say this now that I know that no one was seriously hurt...

Look at our entertainment yesterday. Across the street from my office we could see this play out! Who does this? How does this happen? I would absolutely be horrified if I ever did something like this. Now I am going to be late all this week to work because I have to find another 7-11 for my diet coke fix.
