Somersault Saturday
Just thought she was posing until she actually went over. Suprised her too! (She took out her new cottage in the process! lol)So, I actually caught the beginning of her FIRST Somersault! She did it one more time but I didn't have the video ready and now she won't do it again. Maybe tomorrow!!
Potty Train your Child in ONE day!
What You Need
•A doll that wets
•A potty chair
•Big boy/girl underwear (instead of diapers)
•Lots of liquids for your child and the doll to drink
**Note that the following instructions using liquids also apply to potty training for bowel movements.
Consider Before You Begin
•Development: The American Academy of Pediatrics suggests waiting until 2 years of age to potty train.
•Modeling: You can demonstrate or have the doll demonstrate the process of "going potty."
•Motivation: Find out who your child's superhero is. The hero will provide the motivation in this process.
Step 1: Teach a Doll That Wets
Your child will learn by teaching the doll how to go potty. Have your child name the doll and give it something to drink. Then walk the doll to the potty chair with your child. Pull the doll's "big kid" underwear down and watch the doll go potty together.
Step 2: Throw the Doll a Potty Party!
When the doll successfully goes potty, throw a potty party! Make it a big blowout with party hats, horns and celebrate. Give lots of attention to the doll so that your child understands that going potty is a good thing.
Let your child know that when he goes potty, he will have a potty party too. Not only that, your child gets to call his favorite superhero to report the good news!
Step 3: Get Rid of the Diapers
At the beginning of the process you placed underwear on your child's doll. Now it's time to take away the diapers and put underwear on your child.
Step 4: Drink Lots of Fluids
Give your child plenty of fluids to drink. The sooner he has to go potty, the sooner you can begin potty training.
Step 5: Ten Trips to Potty When Accident
Ask your child if he needs to go potty. Your child might say no and that's OK. Because you've given your child plenty of fluids, he will soon need to go.
If your child has an accident in his underwear, don't scold him. You want this to be a positive experience. Instead, take your child to the potty, pull his underwear down, and have your child sit down. Do this 10 times. This builds muscle memory and your child will eventually go.
Step 6: Let the Celebration Begin!
When your child successfully goes potty, throw him a potty party. Most importantly, your child can now call his favorite superhero and tell the hero about what he just did! Enlist the help of a friend or relative to play the hero and take the phone call.
When your child has an accident, simply take him/her to the bathroom ten times in a row as you did before. This will continue to build muscle memory. And don't forget to keep up the positive reinforcement.

Pampered at Daycare...
So I go to daycare to pick up my Princess and all the kids are out in the playground. I don't see G anywhere. I signal to one of the teachers...where is she? They point to the wagon. I still don't see her...She was laying down. Finally I see a leg and a hand appear. Then with her mysterious powers she gets "Jake" to come over and pull her along in the wagon.
When he slows down due to "traffic" she pops up to get a better look...
She guesses she better be a backseat driver if she expects to get anywhere. You go Jake! Thanks for doting on my girl!
Asian HairStyle
I've been thinking about how I want to style G's hair before she has an opinion and vetos me. I found some of the cutest Asian hairstyles online. I will post them soon. I also stumbled across a youtube how to video! How cute is this girl! Not crazy about the highlights but I love the way she did her hair! I might have to try it myself...only a shorter version with more bangs!!!
Reconnecting with Cousins
While my mom was in town we reconnected with cousins Susan, Juanita and Patti (her nieces) and their families. On this particular night we went over to Juanita's home. It was BEAUTIFUL and G got to dip her feet in the pool and go out back down to the barn and visit all the horses!!
G's first "upclose and personal" experience with a Horse.
Isn't she (the horse) beautiful! She is an excellent racer. (not sure the word they use in the horse world) but right now she is taking it easy as she is "expecting"!!!

Rainy Days
Found this on the internet...
With all of the hurricanes, tropical storms, and downright rainy weather that has canvased us lately I’ve had to be creative with the kids. No park, zoo, or outdoor activity. So, I rolled up my sleeves and came up with 10 things to do with toddlers (and babies) on a rainy day.
1. Build a tent in your room and play under it. It’s amazing what you can create with some old sheets. You can ‘camp in the rain’, read books, stack blocks, and much more under your tent.
2. Have a dance party. For whatever reason my kids love to watch me make a fool out of myself. So I turned up the music, sang, and danced all around the living room. I held our 10 month old and, before I knew it, my 2 year old was running around chasing after me mimicking my every move. Great to get the energy out. Note: If your a little self-conscious, shut your blinds.
3. Do some crafts. Color in coloring books, play with play dough, stick stickers on paper, draw, etc…
4. Read some books. My kids love to be read too. So, go to the library and check out some new books that they haven’t read.
5. Bowling Cups. My two year old loves this. Grab some old plastic cups and set them up in your kitchen. Then get a ball that they can ‘roll’ at the cups. Be creative with it, they don’t have to be ordered like bowling pins. You can stack the cups in a pyramid, line them up in a row, etc…
6. Start potty training. We used the rainy days that Hurricane Ike brought us to begin potty training our oldest. Why not? We were already confined to the house.
7. Finger paint with chocolate pudding.
8. Make Christmas gifts for the grandparents. Get an early start on Christmas shopping by having your kids make Christmas cards and Thanksgiving cards.
9. Have a photo shoot. Dress your kids up and snap away.
10. When all else fails, and as long as it isn’t Sunday, go to Chick-Fil-A and play in their playroom. Endless hours of fun and tiring for the kids.

6 Months a FAMILY
How time flies...
- 6 months a Family and she's almost 18 months!
- G is finally starting to say lots of words, mostly:
- NO, mama, CRAK KA (cracker), Pirate, Giorgia, Diaper, MINE, bug bite, more, bath, Ball, up, shoes, bow, Bub-Bye, Hi, and Uh Ohh.
- She only signs for Hungry and More.
- Honestly, does she need anymore than this. These about cover all her needs and wants. She is VERY demanding when it comes to these words and signs above. It seems that she is only interested in learning those words that will get her what she wants. Hopefully she'll want to eventually want to learn more!
- She's only 22 lbs and 31" in height. She's about the 50% in the Southern Girls Asian Growth Charts but at 3% on the American Charts.
- She's already had bumps, bruises, scratches, scrapes, bites and STITCHES! What does the future hold for us!!!
- She is still swimming in 12mo clothing. 6-9 month is a better fit as long as it's seperates. She'd be best off with 3-6 mo skirts!
- She's a cleaner. (didn't get this from me) It's either from her SWI or daycare. I remove all uneaten food off her highchair and spirt a tad bit of windex on her tray and give her a paper towel and she cleans it off. She is obsessed with cleaning stuff. Give her a wipe and she'll wipe you down too. Might have a helper after all...lord knows I need one.
- She loves her puppy and needs a puppy kiss from him EVERY day! It's so cute.
- When she needs her diaper changed, if you ask her, she will get a new diaper, bring it to you and lay down and she always "opens" up the new one while you are working on removing the dirty one.
- Can throw trash in the trash and car key, shoes and anything else important.
- Knows where I keep the tissues and how to blow her nose. She will get only one tissue and use it and then throw it in the trash.
- When asked to she can put all her toys away before bedtime.
- After I brush her teeth she brushes them. Not just chews, she actually brushes.
- Starting to swim on her belly in the bathtub.
- She got her first haircut.
- She got her ears pierced.
- She's a really good girl and plays well with others and independently!!
- She likes to "be on her own program" and play quietly for long periods of time.
- She still loves books and has started to like coloring!
- She no longer attempts to eat the crayons!!!
- She likes her snacks right after her meal at the coffee table. She pulls up her kiddie chair to it and wants the snacks in the suction bowl along with her sippy cup and there she takes her snacks!
- Found out she's highly allergic to Mosquitos!
- I believe she has allergies...it's unofficial right now but Zyrtec is working wonders.
- She is still going to sleep at 7pm and waking at 5:45am. (We're out the door EARLY!)
That is just some of the fun stuff that she's doing now. Life is good! I couldn't imagine a more perfect little girl!!! (Tantrums and all!) She's my pride and joy!
A STYLE of her own
On this particular day, G ran back into the house and insisted on wearing her hot pink hat. Well, at least it matched!
