I'm a lurker but I wanted to let you know that I love your lists that you have made available. And even though I am a BTDT parent (we adopted our daughter from China in 2004), I am finding these items as wonderful refreshers. I love your call list, too. It's the one I will be using!

We are LID 2/6/06 - very close to you! I wish you luck with little Giorgia Danette!

Best wishes from Texas! Erin

Hey Steph! How are you buddy? Your blog is definitely going to be my one point of referance when I begin my packing. My goodness girl, you leave no stone unturned. Me, I have yet to even START! I have no idea when I will either. I think a part of me still feels it wont happen. Can you believe it!! We are sooooo close!!

As a Mom who adopted from China in 2003 I second previous poster Erin's thoughts. I'm always up for new and interesting products and love to pass them along to my siblings and friends with new wee ones. And I find out about great things all the time here. The most recent post about the book is a wonderful example.

This a great product. Be sure to look for the "Baby" version as it is more comfortable for infants/youngsters than the regular formula. The "Baby" version sprays a fine mist instead of the typical stream that several other products out there have. The old squirt bottles can cause a kidlet to gag if the saline drains down the back of their throat.

Our 5 and 1/2 year old still insists on using the "Baby" version because of the gentler spray. Talk about brand recognition. She balks if the label says anything other than "Simply Saline" even though there are now other brands that are in a similar spray can applicator. These days she is able to use it herself. She will use the regular "grown up" version in a pinch.

An alternate suggestion for the adults here is a Neti pot which works wonders for colds, allergies & sinus troubles. I finally resorted to a Neti pot after everything else had failed during one particular bout with a bad sinus infection. There are You Tube clips online if you are curious. I love that this gentleman describes it as a watering can for your nose. http://www.fatguyradio.com/2007/05/03/have-you-ever-seen-a-neti-pot/

However, while the our kidlet thinks it is absolutely hysterical to watch me use the Neti pot she has as yet not been willing to try out one for herself. Perhaps someone has a child's version of the Neti pot out there?

For myself since Neti pots are something that are best used at home over a bathroom sink I always keep a can of "Simply Saline" on hand at work during cold and allergy seasons. Works wonders.

Hey! Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I was in Little Silver, NJ. Is that anywhere near you?

Stephe? Is this stuff under pressure? Can it handle being in the hold of the plane? I'll have to check it out. Sounds like something we should have on hand.

Hugs,

There's another product I recommend that's better than saline called Alkalol. It's all natural, very inexpensive and works great. Our major drugstore here is Walgreen's and I just ask the pharmacist for it. I think it's kept in the dark so it's always behind the counter. A doctor from Stanford recommended it and all my daycare kids use it. We call it Boogie Juice. I get a simple bottle of nasal saline, pry off the top, dump the saline and refill with Alkalol. Any time you feel stuffy of feel a sore throat coming on, squirt it up your nose and you'll be amazed. It's all-natural, non-addictive and very safe.

Hi I have been dropping in and out of your blog for more than a year. as an adoptive parent I know the wait can be crazy. I am considering adopting internationally next time (ethiopia). I was wondering can you post an update in regards to how close you are to your refferal?
