Foolish for posting this

I know, I know, I'm probably Foolish for posting this..

I am Republican.

I don't always agree with everything Republican and I don't always disagree with things Democrat. At voting time if I truely think in my heart that a democrat is a better candidate, that person will get my vote, although it hasn't happened yet. Never say never.

So, here is what's on my mind...

I don't have much of an opinion about Obama but I LOVE Oprah. I am for anyone, even celebrities, endorsing candidates, but.....

If Obama wins, I believe it will be Oprah's win and what kind of president is that. I want my next president to win his/her own presidency. Obama, stand on your own and strong or sit down and let Oprah run for presidency.

For this reason alone, I believe he is the least deserving Democrat.

Hi Giorgia,
I'm a Republican too and I am going to post today about how disappointed I am with Oprah's endorsement.

I think we need a very strong and experienced leader in our next President. GWB hasn't been a very good one and the whole country has suffered for 8 years.

I beleive that if Obama is elected it will tear our country apart for many reasons.

Please don't vote for Obama because Oprah likes him! For crying out loud! Look at his experience! I also think that he's a whiner and has placed blame for some of his mistakes on his staff - a huge no-no in my book.

In my opinion, our best candidate is Hilary. This needs to be her time as she has the chops to do the job. And a great man to give her advice on the side :)

I'm going to plead no comment, as I'm not really sure how I feel on this subject. But I will give you two snaps for stirring this pot.

I think it's very scary when people start using their popularity to sway votes. Very, very scary. In our society now, anyone who is truly qualified to be the president would never get elected. Good post!

From a Democrat who likes both Oprah and Obama I am also disappointed in this turn of events. I was not planning on voting for Obama and would be horrified if people vote for him purely on the word of Oprah Winfrey...

Our votes will be going to the best women for the job :)

Thanks for bringing this up great topic....

good post... i don't want to believe that anyone would cast a vote based on anyone else's endorsement, especially not a celebrity . i like Oprah, but don't alway agree with her. i believe this country needs major change, but it also needs experience. he might be a good choice for vice president. i'll admit i'm a democrat, but i vote with my brain, not who someone else tell's me to. our vote is too precious to waste. party lines mean nothing.. Don't be Sheep, follow your own beliefs... thanks for letting me vent!!! i dislike people who don't think for themselves!! linda

I have to agree that Obama doesn't have the experience (although he is incredibly charismatic!).

I like Oprah OK, but I don't agree that she (or any other celeb) should be so bold in endorsing any candidate. She certainly is aware of the power she has to influence, and that's what makes the situation scary.

Hopefully people will take time to study the issues and vote their conscience, be it democrat or republican. Our county is in desperate need right now, and our next president will have a lot on his/her plate to make right.

A conservative democrat or moderate republican.
I still don't know who I'm going to vote for!

I'm a Republican as well and I agree with what Joann in nj said. If Obama is elected it will tear our country apart for many reasons and I truly believe that. I was just talking about him to my DH - in how scary it would be and what will stand for our future if he were? We would become prisoners... I just don't trust that man.
