Create My Party by Stephe

Okay, so one of my FAVORITE blogs is having a contest! It's a "Create My Party" for her UPCOMING 38th BIRTHDAY! Her color scheme will be Gray, Cream and Leafy Green and Damask incorporated. She would like a do it yourself cupcake decorating buffet with different flavors of cupcakes, frostings & toppings. Also a fun little bar with a few swanky cocktails. So, here are my ideas below! Under each inspiration board I will explain. :)

I am thinking you could do a new hints of damask such as the invitation and favors, if you so choose to do favors. I thought the top left invitation incorporated damask but in a simplified manner. Sometimes too much damask is just not a good thing! lol. I also tossed in the invitation on the right that has some of the colors that you like and I just liked the way they looked.

Favor idea found here on One Blushing Bride.

The first photo is how I see the damask and green being incorporated in your tablescape. I ADORE the second tablescape because of the grey chic chairs. Although a venue with these type of seats might be hard to come by, I just LOVED them and wanted to show them to you. I like the idea of incorporating a simple and modern look with the damask and an asian feel. I also found this really great fabric on Etsy.

I realize this is a wedding cake but you could scale it down like the photoshop job I did with the one on the right and instead of a crystal P you could put a crystal 38!!! I think it would be FABULOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have a GREAT Cocktail Bar with three signature drinks representing your color theme and complimenting your cupcake bar. My suggestions are below:

VANILLA MARTINI
1.5 pt NAVAN natural vanilla liqueur
1.5 pt Chopin Vodka
0.5 pt simple syrup
0.5 pt fresh lime juice
Shake with ice. Strain into a Martini glass.
Found here by Navan

KEY LIME and COCUNUT CAIPIRINHA
2 oz. Cabana Cachaça
1 tbsp. shredded coconut
1 tbsp. granulated sugar
1 lime, quartered
Crushed ice

Muddle lime with coconut and sugar. Add Cabana Cachaça, shake, and pour over ice.
Found here at Marie Claire

GREY GOOSE MARTINI
3 ounces Grey Goose Vodka
1 ounce Dry Vermouth
Shake with cracked ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with an olive.

Now this is the FUN part. Don't let the photo of the ice cream parlor throw you off. It's there to represent all the items that should be laid out: cupcakes, icings, sprinkles, jimmies, candies, nuts etc. Buy a few of these silver tiered trays for the cupcakes to be sitting out on. Put all sprinkles, jimmies, candies and nuts in either the jars or the square glass containers. Make it look more sophisticated. You can purchase an icing stand like the one above. They come in silver as well and have bags of icing ready to go. Here are some great cupcake flavors:

Cupcakes below found here by the Vanilla Bake Shop.
